Whether you have a brick + mortar store or an e-commerce biz, the holiday season is full of opportunities. Spice up your marketing ideas with a holiday flair so you can end the year strong with new customers and even more brand loyalty from the customers who already love you. While this is great news for you as a business owner, it’s important to remember that your competitors have the same opportunities. So how can you cut through the noise of every other holiday offer to reach your ideal customers? Try implementing one or more of these 5 holiday marketing strategies.

Create Gift Guides

No matter the industry, almost every business can benefit from creating a gift guide for the holiday season. You can easily direct your customers to specific products you want to promote and make it easy for them to buy for those who are “hard to buy for.” Make the gift guides as specific as possible so they fit your ideal customers. You can create these gift guides as a page on your website OR as a PDF with links that you could gate in your email marketing platform to gain email subscribers.

Team Up With Influencers

If part of your holiday marketing strategy is to greatly expand your reach, teaming up with influencers in your niche is one of the best ways to do so! The key is to find the right influencers, making sure they align with your audience and style of content. For example: If your brand is really “in your face” and bold, you probably wouldn’t want to partner with someone that creates light, neutral photos and videos. Add A Holiday Touch To Your Products/Service

Get into each holiday the way only YOU can. Would your brand be at the pumpkin patch in October and setting up Elf on a Shelf this holiday season? Or does your brand work at a haunted house Halloween weekend and make Hot Toddys for Friendsgiving? Whatever you do, don’t go generic for the holidays, or you’ll get lost in the noise.

Create Site Pages Specifically For Holiday Promos

If you have a special short-term holiday promotion, one of the best ways to track your marketing efforts and get more sales is to create a landing page specifically for those promotions only. For example: If you are trying to drive email signups with a freebie, create a landing page and workflow in Flodesk (or whatever email marketing platform you use). If you are trying to sell a certain type of product(s) for the holidays, create a specific page on your website highlighting them. Don’t just include those products in your typical menu items. For example: If you’re using Shopify, create a Menu item titled “Holiday Exclusives” or something similar.

Use Countdown Timers On Social Media + Website Plugins

One of the easiest ways to create urgency around your holiday promotions is to utilize the countdown timers on Instagram Stories, and by adding a countdown timer plugin to your website. Popular platforms like Shopify and WordPress both offer plugins. Click HERE for Shopify and HERE for WordPress.
