Entrepreneurs have many different responsibilities on their plates. But have you ever stopped to think about what’s on your actual plate? Let’s be real, anxiety eating is real and nobody is making perfectly healthy food choices all the time. The reality is, we are super busy, but subconsciously, we develop habits that cause us to make poor food choices.
These habits can be as simple as needing that tall, juicy glass of vino to unwind at the end of the day, or relying on snacks instead of a balanced nutritious meal because you “don’t have the time.”
Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE to unwind with a glass of wine (or a margarita 😉) but it is important to note that some of our behaviors (like anxiety eating) are actually habits that are hurting us rather than fueling us.
On today’s episode we are joined by Dr. Nicole Avena, a research neuroscientist, author and expert on nutrition, diet and food addictions who has spent the past 15 years researching the relationship between the brain and how it affects our food choices. Dr. Avena takes us through a little self-reflection into the habits that we have created as entrepreneurs that are causing our food addictions.
In today’s episode you’ll learn:
- What food addiction is
- How food addictions are started
- What foods easily trigger food addictions
- How to recognize if you have a food addiction
- How to break the habits that are causing your food addictions
& SO MUCH MORE!
