Tonight our mama hearts break 💔

I’ve sat here thinking about what to say or not say. And I’ve come up at a loss.

Today I had the joy of watching my first grader and another m+s kiddo play together in their last soccer game of the season. I got to feed my 3 year old endless snacks to occupy him. I got to hear about all the excitement of their day. I got to tuck them into bed….

All while knowing so many parents didn’t. And I have no words. All while knowing I have to send my babies to school tomorrow and just pray they are safe. All while hoping I can let them hold onto their innocence, be children, and protect them from even worrying about something like this ever happening.

We have an office of mamas, and three of those kiddos are in elementary school together.

As someone who was 13 when Columbine happened 23 years ago…I just can’t believe this still continues to happen and now so many years later I worry firsthand as a mom of a school aged kiddo.

We have to do better.

We need better laws and policies.

We need better mental health care and awareness.

We need to stop letting this happen.

Our children and teachers deserve better.

Our children are counting on us.
